It is pretty clear by the site stats on search engine terms that quite a number of people are visiting because they want information on the Auckland District Law Society Body Corporate Operational Rules, but the post we made back in early October was really just a quick note that they exist, what they are for, and their limitations.
People visiting these days probably want to know how to GET THEM, especially as the AGM deadline under the Unit Titles Act 2010 is approaching and they want to discuss new rules at the meetings.
The problem is that these forms are copyrighted and we have no right to give them away, not to mention that they cost us a hundred dollars a time. I would be surprised if you can download them anywhere except from the official source.
The public (ie your body corporate) can, however, purchase them from the ADLS online store, albeit it at a slightly higher price than that charged to members. A link straight to the purchase page follows:
Because the rules will usually need tailoring to suit specific buildings, you would be well advised to get your lawyer to purchase them (at the cheaper member price) as part of reviewing and replacing your existing body corporate rules, all of which need review before the transitional periods end (there will be another post about this in the near future).
If your body corporate hasn’t already embarked on the process of transition; at the very least in terms of instituting (or at least considering the need for) new long term maintenance budgets and funds, they really should have.
We can help guide you through it. I don’t normally advertise for custom in my posts; in fact this is the first time, but this is one area where I suspect it is appropriate. Call me on 09 921 5026 to discuss where you/your body corporate are at and what you need to do.
